Meet Moratwe
Johannesburg, South AfricaI’m Dr. Moratwe Masima, a medical doctor currently working in Family Medicine in Johannesburg.
I was born and raised in Johannesburg, but my family is originally from Matatiele in the Eastern Cape. Those roots are part of my story, too.
Back in high school, I knew I wanted science and beauty to have a place in my future. I just couldn’t picture the career that would bring them together. Medicine gave that curiosity a foundation; over time, I’ve found my own way to connect it with beauty, health and wellbeing.
Today, I’m still exploring that connection — through my work, the conversations I share and the way I express myself. This space brings those different parts of me together.
I graduated from Stellenbosch University with an MBChB in 2020.
My internship at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital and community service at Helen Joseph Hospital shaped my approach to holistic care.

United Nations South Africa · 2024
In May 2024, I joined the #MakeASafetyStatement campaign as a UN South Africa Road Safety Ambassador. Launched in Johannesburg by UN Special Envoy Jean Todt, the campaign used public advocacy and billboard messages to encourage safer choices for drivers, pedestrians and other road users.
